Masakazu Toyoda

Mr. Masakazu Toyoda is currently the Secretary-General at the Secretariat of Headquarters for Space Policy in Japan. In addition, Mr. Toyoda most recently served as the Special Envoy on East Asian Affairs to the Prime Minister, and as Special Adviser on Climate Change at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where he also held the position of Vice Minister for International Affairs. He has a long career history at Japan’s International Trade Policy Bureau, with positions including Director-General for both the International Economic Affairs Department and Multilateral Trade System Department. Mr. Toyoda holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Tokyo and Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
