Qin Xiao
Spring 2008Dr. Qin Xiao is chairman of the China Merchants Group and China Merchants Bank. He is a member of the Tenth Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, guest professor at the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and the Graduate School of the People’s Bank of China. Before joining China Merchants Group, he served as president and vice chairman of China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC), and Chairman of CITIC Industrial Bank. He was a deputy to the Ninth National People’s Congress and is a member of Toyota International Advisory Board. He also served as chairman of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) for the year 2001. He is the author of several papers and books in the fields of economics and management.
